All EASY DOES IT™ clothing is designed for comfort and "easy entry". After extensive research, we feel that VELCRO® brand fasteners enable us to achieve our goals. These "hook and loop" fasteners take the place of functioning buttons, snaps, hooks and zippers and allow our customers to enjoy pain free and effortless dressing.
Because these fasteners are flexible and have strong holding power, you can adjust the size of the waistbands (several inches) to suit your individual needs. In our manufacturing process, we stitch down all VELCRO® hook and loop fasteners in order to guarantee the long life of the product.
Although many companies manufacture this type of product, we choose to use The VELCRO® Companies, who are considered to be the original manufacturers of hook and loop fasteners, and other related products. One of these related products is called "Velcoins", which we use on all of our blouses and shirts. It resembles a "coin" and fits neatly behind the decorative buttons allowing them to close with just a touch and hold securely.

The following is quoted from a brochure printed by VELCRO® USA Inc. in 1999.
In the 1940's, the Swiss Inventor George de Mestral was hiking and came home with cockleburs on his trousers. His microscope showed that cockleburs were covered with hundreds of tiny hooks, and that his trousers were covered with hundreds of tiny loops. The hooks engaged the loops, and stuck!
De Mestral decided to turn his discovery into something useful. He perfected and patented a hook product and a loop product that mimicked the cocklebur/trouser combination.
His invention is usually called "hook and loop tape." The "hook tape" has stiff little hooks on it, while the "loop tape" is soft and fuzzy. Together, they're called a "hook and loop fastener" or a "touch fastener."
So, what is "Velcro?" De Mestral offered his new product under the trademark VELCRO®, from the French word for velvet, "velour," and for the hook, "crochet." His company, and its successors (The VELCRO® Companies) are known throughout the world as the original manufacturers of hook and loop fasteners, and other products.
Now you know what "Velcro" is. It is the name of a group of companies, and it is a trademark for their products. It is not the generic name of the stuff that fastens shoes, pockets and hundreds of other things. That "stuff" is hook and loop fasteners.
